«On the 48th floor the winds get up to mischief»: c of a skyscraper in Manhattan hanging scaffold

On Monday evening part of the scaffolding fell off a condominium building rising in downtown new York. Design hung high on the building from Sixth Avenue.

As a result of incident nobody has suffered, but, according to witnesses, the building collapsed glass. «I saw frame system waving in the wind, and then fell on the wall of a building, said 56-year-old witness Myron Reddy, the Builder. — I think it can damage the structure of the building.»

Firemen and police arrived at the crash site around 8:30 PM. Inspectors from the city Department of buildings was also on the scene. The police blocked the street between Sixth and Seventh Avenue, and Sixth Avenue between 57th and 58th street.

The Builder who did not give his name, said he was assigned to guard «the scaffold». «On the 48th floor the winds get up to mischief, — the man told in yellow and white vest. — I need to go and bind the pendant design. Everything should be fine.»

The building is one of the projects of condominiums in supertolle on 57th street. The 82-story building will have a height of about 1400 feet.

«When construction is completed, it will be one of the tallest towers in the city and the thinnest skyscraper in the world,» say its promoters. And on the lower floors of the new tower is the former piano showroom for Steinway & Sons.

We have a funny story like a raccoon in Minnesota climbed the skyscraper and became a star of the Internet.
