The names of a couple from southern California were not disclosed. They decided for fun to get to peak district mountain Alamo height of 2255 m. the Area is located just off interstate 5, but these places are rugged and remote. Basically it can be reached only by unpaved roads that are not cleared in the winter.

The couple got into snow trap, because in the mountains for 4 days the storm raged on. News sometimes exaggerate a storm coming, and this time the tourists had underestimated the forces of nature.

All the 2 weeks they lived in my truck Dodge Dakota and periodically included the engine to warm up. The couple faced problems only when they ran out of food, and there was no more fuel to melt drinking water.

Tourists rose by 4 km to catch a mobile signal and call rescue workers, and then returned to his truck to retrieve his two dogs.

The helicopter crew had the coordinates of the place where the call came, but it took some time to weak tracks in the snow to find the truck. He was parked on the road, covered with snow and crushed by a large fallen pine. When the helicopter spotted the couple, they literally jumped for joy.

California tourist, despite their protracted 2-week trip, still very lucky. In 2006, the family of four from San Francisco came on a snowy road in southern Oregon, trying to get from highway 5 to the coast. The mother and two daughters were rescued nine days later, but the father, James Kim, who walked more than 26 miles in the cold and the snow for help, was found dead in the Creek.

The road to Alamo mountain and camping in the area are currently closed.
