The boy was supposedly buried in «his own little snow coffin». When Timothy Haushalt found Ethan, he took him to Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, where the child died after unsuccessful attempts by doctors to save him.
According to the report of the medical examiner, the child died from hypothermia and blunt force trauma to the head, abdomen and chest and broken ribs.
