Militiamen managed to identify the bodies of the women and 10-year-old boywho was found 20 years ago in different States, near Interstate 85. It turned out to be mother and son. In their murder confessed to the boy’s father.
The case was solved thanks to the online database of DNA and the assistance of a consultant whose work led to the arrest in 2018, the California serial killer known as the Killer of the Golden state.
Investigators in South and North Carolina didn’t give up trying to solve cases in 1998, not knowing that they are related.
«I used to keep a box thing under my Desk and put in order to cling to her leg. I did this so it was constantly reminding myself that this little boy has not been forgotten,» says Tim Horne, an investigator from the orange County (NC).
The children’s remains were found in September 1998, the workers that killed the grass on the side of the road near highway I-85 in Mebane. The authorities of North Carolina brought in experts to recreate the appearance of the child, but no one was able to identify it.

And earlier, in may of the same year, in South Carolina found the naked body of a woman also near I-85 and 215 miles from where the body was found of the boy.
In December 2018, the DNA of the child had examined Barbara RAE-Venter, whose work with the online databases of DNA previously helped to arrest the perpetrator in 1970-80-ies in California 26 murders.
Dr. RAE-Venter compared the boy’s DNA database and found that this is Robert «Bobby» Adam whitt from Ohio that went missing with her mother in 1998. Then the Affairs of neighboring States, and bound. DNA analysis confirmed the remains belong to the mother and son.
American law enforcement authorities turned to the Korean counterparts (as the woman was Korean) are dead identified as Myung-Hwa Cho.
Her husband and Bobby’s father is now serving time in Federal prison for another crime. After several interrogations, the prisoner admitted that he killed his wife and son. Soon, the man needs to press charges.
