New York police shot an armed man climbed into a woman’s apartment-transgender

This morning, February 8, in the Lower East side (new York) police wounded an armed man.

According to representatives of the NYPD, about 7 a.m., 911 received a report of an assault in the house on Cherry Street, near Pike Slip, near the Manhattan bridge.

When at the police arrived, according to the New York Daily News, they were met by a female transgender. She said that in her apartment — a man with a knife, and that is the man against whom she has a restraining order. In other words, he is forbidden to approach her.

Officers tried to talk with the man, but he was aggressive. During the collision, at least one of the officers fired. As reported in the NYPD, wounded the offender (his name not yet reported) was urgently taken to hospital, Bellevue. Man in critical condition, his heart stopped.

None of the officers were not injured. The NYPD will conduct an internal investigation of the incident, after reviewing the record body-worn cameras for officers.

An hour ago the traffic on Cherry Street and Pike Slip was blocked. Drivers are urged to avoid the area — there may be large traffic jams.
