The Amtrak train ran over and killed two railway workers

About eleven in the evening on Tuesday, June 27, approaching the train station, Washington Union Station, the largest transport hub of the city, the Amtrak train 175 was hit by two workers of the company CSX Transportation. They died on the spot.

Neither the passengers nor the crew of the composition, plying between Washington and Boston via new York, was not injured. Within a few hours everyone had to remain seated before him came another train, which they did the rest of the way to the station.

The reason there was a fatal accident, is still unknown. The investigation is still underway by local police and the National Council for transport safety (NTSB), an independent Agency that investigates accidents.

The incident resulted in the train service between Washington and Philadelphia was suspended. But to the 09:00 train resumed its movement, however, on limited speeds.

In addition, passengers of trains 401 and 505 MARC runs from the Perryville to new Carrollton via the Penn Line, had to face significant delays. They are encouraged to use the subway: a trip MARC tickets will be free.
