Strawberry surprise: in the truck under the berries lay methamphetamine nearly $13 million

On the southern border of the United States, in Texas, arrested the driver of the truck, which was transported from Mexico to the United States not only frozen strawberries, but drugs.

The driver (his name is not disclosed) is detained after the customs at the port of Texas found hidden in his truck methamphetamine worth nearly $13 million.

According to the customs of the object «international bridge Pharr-Reynosa» (Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge), they stopped to check the truck with a 42-year-old driver of the Mexican, which was a commercial batch of frozen strawberries from Mexico.

While checking the truck the police found 350 packages of drugs, probably methamphetamine.

Authorities seized a drug with the truck. According to preliminary information, the car was carrying methamphetamine 906 pounds (411 kg), the cost of which in the USA on the black market is about $12.7 million

«It was a great interception, which was conducted by our officers, without giving such large quantities of drugs to enter the United States,» said port Director David Gonzalez. The investigation is ongoing.

International bridge Pharr-Reynosa across the river Rio Grande is one of the main ports of entry into Texas from Mexico. According to Texas authorities, in a month the bridge crosses about 175 thousand cars.
