According to the medical examiner, in the liver of 7-year-old Kadena of McWilliams, who was found dead in December 2018, was discovered cocaine and methamphetamine. «May the deceased had complications due to injuries (e.g., infection or sepsis); however, it could also suffer from asphyxia, dehydration and/or hyperthermia, which cannot be confirmed,» says the medical examiner.

According to the police Department of Denver, McWilliams ‘ body was found in the warehouse at the address: 5005 E. Evans Ave. December 23 — Christmas eve. But police records indicated that the death occurred may 24, 2018, six months prior to that.

According to court documents, the boy’s mother, 43-year-old Elisha A. Punks, was arrested for possession of heroin December 22 — the day before the discovery of the body. January 2, a woman surrendered to the police, and on 7 January she was formally charged with mistreatment of children resulting in death and abuse of a corpse.

Father McWilliams, Leland pence, is currently in custody. Court records show he was arrested in November 2017 after allegedly strangling his wife until she lost consciousness. According to the testimony, two children were home during the alleged attack.

In January the judge issued a decree on the protection of the second son of the spouses panki, Camden, and appointed him legal guardian.
