Student pilot killed in plane crash during training

In Florida killed a student pilot of a small plane that crashed March 5 in a wooded area near interstate 95 in the County of Indian river.

According to the battalion chief of the fire Department Kyle Kofke, the pilot, whose name has not been disclosed, was the only person on Board. Rescuers took more than an hour to get to the badly damaged aircraft in the middle of a forest.

«This morning, we suffered a tragic loss, said Steve Phillips, Vice President of communications at FlightSafety International, the company that owns the flight school. — It was one of our students who went to a single training flight. We got in touch to family and expressed her condolences… We told them that we will provide them all that is necessary».

According to the Federal aviation administration (FAA), the aircraft flew from Vero Beach Regional Airport in Palm Beach County Glades Airport in Pahokee (County palm beach).

According to major Eric flowers of the Sheriff’s office, contact with the plane Pero PA-28 Cherokee went missing about 11:30 a.m., shortly after takeoff. About 90 minutes later, the Sheriff’s helicopter spotted the crash in a wooded area.

The forest service Florida cleared the way so firefighters could get to the crash site. The FAA and the National transportation safety is investigating the accident.

According to Phillips, FlightSafety International is closely cooperating with the investigation.
