Dozens of people were injured during the landing of Turkish Airlines flight at JFK airport

Saturday March 9, the plane of Turkish Airlines to fly to new York airport named after John F. Kennedy was caught in a severe turbulence. As a result, suffered at least 29 people, among them 3 children.

Boeing 777 Turkish airlines followed in new York from Istanbul (Turkey). On Board were 326 passengers and 21 crew members. The crew successfully landed the plane at the airport around 17:30. Several ambulances arrived at the airport to pick up needed inspection passengers to the hospital.

The airport authority initially stated that was injured 25 people. Around 20:00 FDNY confirmed the information about the 29 affected and said that all of them have injuries not life-threatening.

According to Steve Coleman, a representative from the administration of JFK, among the injured people were as passengers and crew members. Most of the victims received the necessary medical aid on the spot and was able soon to leave the airport, but some is still taken to the nearest hospital. At least 7 people took Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens.

According to the records of the talks between the pilots of the Boeing 777 and Manager, flying to the airport at some point, the crew requested permission for an urgent reduction because of «severe turbulence». Later, the pilots announced that they have 1 wounded crew member with a suspected broken leg and will need medical assistance upon landing.
