Residents of Burbank were evacuated due to large-scale fire

The fire originated on a mountain slope at the foot of which is a residential area.

To avoid casualties among the local population, the city authorities issued an evacuation order for 60 homes and blocked several streets.

The fire approached the buildings at a dangerously close distance, the photo from the scene shows that residential buildings were literally a few metres from the burning hillside.

According to the National interagency fire center, this summer the likelihood of fires in California is extremely high. A wet winter contributed to the lush growth of grass and shrubs, which are dry during the heat, creating favorable conditions for fires.

In the southern part the risk is highest in July, and in the North in August and September.
