The American, who was accused of the death of a newborn son, admitted that he threw the baby on the floor

A resident of the Bronx, accused in the death of his 1-month-old son, admitted to investigators that got mad and threw the boy to the ground.

Monday, March 18, around midnight, the staff of the ambulance service arrived at the apartment at mill brook house. They found the baby with severe head injuries and took him to the hospital. Boy Aiden Rodriguez, who was only a month, not able to save. The child died as a result of two fractures to the skull and brain injury.

During interrogation the father of a newborn baby 24-year-old Christian Rodriguez first said she accidentally hit the baby’s head against the wall. But under pressure from the police, the man admitted that when the child started crying and did not stop, he threw it on the floor.

«I got mad and threw Aiden face down, said Rodriguez. — I got upset and threw it on the floor.»

On Tuesday, March 19, evening, the NYPD filed against Rodriguez allegations of causing bodily harm by negligence, which resulted in a brain injury, and assault on a child under the age of seven years. The child’s mother, 29-year-old Damaris VEGA, was also detained for questioning, but later released her. It is not known where she was at the time of the incident.

The office of forensic medical examination confirmed that the cause of death was murder.

Police sources told CBS2 that the elder Rodriguez was previously convicted of assaulting one of his four children.

Neighbours of the pair claim that Rodriguez was a loving father who cared about his son. They were shocked to learn of the death of the boy.

«He did everything that had to do, he was a good friend, said abc7ny neighbor Randy Jones. It hurts, it hurts, it really hurts. I mean, he was a good kid. The kid was a good kid».

«He seemed so happy. It was obvious that he was glad the birth of a child,» a neighbor told CBS2’s Jessica pagan.

«He was here with the baby on Friday. We talked, and the baby was fine,» said another neighbor, who did not introduce himself.

The administration of the child protective services of new York (ACS) stated that 5-year-old brother Aiden is now in the care of the maternal grandmother. ACS in conjunction with the new York city police are investigating.
