Police are hunting a man who poured gasoline and torched the building lobby in the Bronx

The police Department of new York (NYPD) are looking for the arsonist who poured gasoline and burned the lobby of a residential building in the Bronx.

The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. in the area of Bailey Avenue and Summit Place. The man poured gasoline or fuel inside the building, then arson, when the building residents were sleeping.

«I watched the video 100 times and I’m still in shock,» said resident Lisa Irizzary.

The arsonist was seen on the surveillance video, when early Sunday morning, April 7, it goes through the first door of the co-op on Bailey Avenue in Kingsbridge, and then pours the fact that, according to the police, was gasoline all over the lobby. Then, without hesitating, the man still ignites. Video of poor quality, therefore, to consider the unknown is very difficult.

«All petrified, says another neighbor, Yomara Hernandez. Want to see the video to understand, if we sign this man.»

The Manager, Samuel Flores, just at this time was going to go to sleep, but suddenly heard the fire alarm went off. Then he opened the door of his apartment.

«I saw the smoke, I woke my family and told them to get ready, we have a fire,» said Flores.

He was the first to call 911, and then recorded the effects — charred particles, soot and partially melted the carpet. Behind the door, Flores found a large bottle of water, in which the suspect is brought gasoline.

According to the NYPD, the fire was extinguished and no one was hurt. The investigation is ongoing.
