The US state Department warned tourists about possible new attacks in Sri Lanka

The U.S. state Department warned travelers about the need to exercise «extreme caution» amid fears that a new terrorist attack can strike at Sri Lanka.

«Terrorist groups continue to plan attacks on Sri Lanka, — reads the statement of the state Department. — The terrorists can launch an attack without warning, aiming at tourist places, transport hubs, markets/shopping centers, local authorities, hotels, clubs, restaurants, churches, parks, major sporting and cultural events, educational institutions, airports and other public places».

Authorities have not called any specific threats. The warning came after Sri Lanka were a series of explosions on Easter Sunday, which killed at least 290 people and injuring more than 500 people. Among the dead were several of US citizens. The identity of all the dead Americans is not yet established. It is also known that among the victims were three children of the owner of the company Asos.

On the morning of April 22 was arrested 24 suspects.
