In Silicon valley the driver intentionally hit pedestrians 8, including 13-year-old girl

California police have arrested a man who crashed into a group of eight pedestrians were about to cross the street.

The incident occurred on April 23 at about 18.40 Sunnyvale, between El Camino Real and Sunnyvale Saratoga Road. According to police captain Jim Choi, the driver drove into the crosswalk, and then onto the sidewalk, where they continued to knock down pedestrians.

When police arrived at the scene, three of the victims were found in a critical condition. Eight of the wounded pedestrians were taken to hospital, one of them was only 13 years old. The driver was arrested on the spot.

«It seems that this was a deliberate act, said captain Choi. — All currently being investigated. The driver is in custody.»

This version is confirmed by witnesses. They assure that the driver never tried to stop.

«We have testimonies that show that the car did not try to stop or slow down, added Choi. — And the scene shows no signs of braking».

The investigators find out a possible motive and whether the man under alcoholic or narcotic intoxication.

«This is very unusual, city of Sunnyvale very safe, added Choi. — So to hear about such a tragedy unheard of».
