Later on Monday evening, may 6, in new York, the driver of the car lost control and crashed into a two-storey building, which caused its collapse.

As reported by the Fire Department of new York (FDNY), the incident occurred at about 23.30 hours on 496 Avenue P near East 5th Street in Midwood (borough of Brooklyn).

According to police, 20-year-old driver (name not yet released) crashed into a building that led to its partial collapse. It is unknown at what speed the driver flew into the building.

The young man was able to get out from under the wreckage and tried to flee the scene, but was detained by officers of the district patrol until the police took him into custody. The police added that the perpetrator of the accident was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. It is unclear, proposed to have the driver any prosecution.

More than 100 firefighters and rescuers worked at the scene, examining the wreckage and looking for residents.
