The police Department announced that today in Central Park accident. The driver, who was moving with the «clear speed«, crashed into a tree last night. The man did not survive.
Police responded to a 911 call about the accident at 23:13 on Friday. Upon arrival at the scene they found 29-year-old man, unconscious, sitting in the car Nissan Altima 2013 release.
The victim driver was taken to hospital St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities say that during an accident in the car was nobody, except the driver.
According to the preliminary investigation, the driver was traveling South on West Drive «a clear violation of speed limit on West 60th Street.» He lost the car a turn, drove over the curb on the West side, and then crashed into an oak tree.
It is reported that a tree was about 100 meters from the road. One of the witnesses, a homeless woman, said that, in her opinion, the driver was driving at speed of not less than 60-70 mph.
It is worth noting that Central Park is a restriction of speed to 25 miles per hour.
