Terrifying footage: unidentified man set himself on fire right outside the White house

Today, may 29, early in the morning, an unidentified man set himself on fire in front of tourists in Ellipse park, which is located right in the heart of Washington, near the White house.

In frightening video posted to Twitter, see a man on fire and heard the sound of approaching police cars. The entry ends with a flame someone puts out.

The man not immediately identified, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, reported CBS News the representative a press-services of the fire Department of Washington.

Press Secretary of the secret service Jeffrey Adams said that employees of their Department «responded in a matter of seconds» after «the man set himself on fire». Then the police began to give him first aid.

The incident managed to shoot 17-year-old Alina Berzins. The girl told CNBC that she visited the national Mall with two cousins from Bolivia, when they «saw the man» in Ellipse.

«He started to run, and then we saw that he was covered in fire,» — said the eyewitness.

Ellipse park is a Park with an area of 21 hectares, located to the South of the White house and to the North of the National Mall — the complex of monuments and museums in the heart of the capital. The fire occurred just North of the Washington monument.

Last month a man in a motorized wheelchair had set fire to his jacket near the White house. He’s got not dangerous to life injuries.
