A few months later, 51-year-old Tammy Lawrence-Daley of Delaware finally recovered and well enough to share her story about how she almost died.
The mother of two children in a long post on Facebook revealed the details of the terrible incident that happened to her on vacation in the Dominican Republic.
«Now, after I healed, it was time to tell my story in the hope that women will be more aware and hopefully will prevent what happened to me,» wrote Tammy.
According to the victim, she took a leave of absence in late January and along with her husband and their best friends went to the Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana all-inclusive.
Second day of the holiday the company held on the beach and in the evening they went to watch a theatrical show and dance. Around 22:30 they returned to their rooms, but the woman suddenly hungry. Because the food in the room so do not bring later, Tammy decided to go down the hall to eat.
«I said to my husband… I’ll be back in 5 minutes,» the woman wrote in the post.
As it turned out, Tammy never came back.

«In the end, I walked around the lobby of our building and decided to go into the living room of the next building, [which was] on the beach, — says the woman. I thought that I could take some pictures of the moon on the water, but I never got to the beach».
Tammy recalls how it was «eerily quiet» when she passed the distance between buildings, before it suddenly attacked by men dressed in uniforms with the hotel logo.
«His arms were wrapped around me, and he immediately began to pull me into the room maintenance,» wrote the woman, noting that she «will not go into the grim details of it all.»
According to the victim, then dragged her down concrete stairs to the basement, where the pipeline was sewage.
«In the next 8 hours brought me pain and fear. I choked several times until he lost consciousness, — said the victim. — I was beaten on the head, beat me with a baton. And then choked to kill».
Tammy is not sure whether he raped her attacker, because it has long been out.
«I couldn’t get up without feeling a gag spasms, recalls surviving female. When I was finally able to sit down, all I could think was, «I’m never getting out of here, I die here, they’ll never find me»».
Meanwhile her husband and friends spent the evening in search of women. The hotel staff insisted that Tammy was just drunk and probably lost consciousness — that, as claimed by her husband, unusual for his wife.
At some point survival instincts Tammy began to fire. Despite the fact that she couldn’t see due to the fact that her eyes were swollen, and he feared that she might drown, Tammy tried to escape.
«I thought, «I get out of here. I just need to figure out how»», says the woman, noting that the perp left her bag with the phone, but she was unable to use Siri.
The woman finally discovered early the next morning — nearly eight hours after her disappearance — when she heard voices and began desperately calling for help. After rescuing Tammy was taken to a local hospital, where she has recorded a broken nose and hand, and partial hearing loss in my left ear.
According to her message in Facebook, Majestic Elegance refused «to take any responsibility for the attack, as she was unable to identify the assailant». And because of the lack of evidence, different criminal procedures in the Dominican Republic and the fact that she may have to return to the country to testify — that she doesn’t want to do — Tammy said that it is unlikely to budge.
«One lawyer told us that you have only one choice — to go home and forget about it — she explains. — It’s not what you want to hear… This is not how it should happen.»
The woman added that the police found «smeared with blood the MOP handle and cap employee maintenance on the spot where she was found, but that means nothing in these countries.»
«This man thought killed me, but failed. It’s still there, the predator, waiting for its next victim. Only the next woman may not be so lucky,» emphasizes Tammy.
In his post, which has already gathered more than 130 thousand reposts, it warns: «please, Please, don’t go alone».
