On may 27, a large family of immigrants from Ukraine was in a terrible car accident in which killed the head of the family — 35-year-old Paul Buts.
The tragedy occurred when they were returning home from a family trip. As reported by friends of the family, at some point, their car clipped the other driver. Paul lost control and the car rolled over several times.
Wife, Elena Kostenko-Buts, and their five children — three sons Andrew, Maxim and Cyril, and two daughters, Anna and Katherine — were taken to hospital with multiple injuries and still need operations. However, Paul did not survive the accident. According to relatives, he died at the scene, trying to protect his family.
According to the page on GoFundMe, Paul was a carpenter and loved to work with his hands. The man was the sole breadwinner in the family and tried very hard to look after everyone. The family moved to the East coast in Midland (NC) less than a year ago, leaving most of the relatives in Sacramento (CA). There live parents of Pavel, Nikolai and Galina, Buts, and his two sisters, Olga Buts and Tatyana gurzhy.
