At the end of the school year the teacher handed the child autist award as «the most annoying boy»

A resident of Indiana told me that his 11-year-old son, who suffers from autistic spectrum disorders, last month received from his teacher the award as «the most annoying boy.»

Rick Castellón told The Times Of Northwest Indiana, teacher at special education school Bailly Preparatory Academy in Gary, Indiana handed out awards at the annual closing ceremony for fifth graders. Eleven-year-old child received an award as «the most annoying boy» in front of other children, parents and the principal of the school. The Times reports that all the parents at the event at the restaurant Golden Corral ceased when the child gave the prize.

Castejon admitted: «We were dumbfounded. We just didn’t expect this. As the principal of the school or a teacher you should never allow something like that to happen to a student.»

He said that his son does not talk, sometimes swinging back and forth and prone to excessive emotionality. Castejon said that now he sees the calls from school when he was asked to handle his son, in a completely different light.

Moreover, Castejon told the newspaper that he has not commented on the incident and even tried to forget about this unpleasant incident and left the trophy on the table, but the teacher of his son blithely reminded him not to forget it.

Peter Morici from the school district Gary Community School Corp. told The Time that they do not approve of such behavior, and bring «our most sincere apologies to the student, his family and all who were offended by the incident.»

Castejon told that his family before the awards ceremony planned to move to another city and he’s not going to send my son to school Gary in the next academic year. But he decided to tell about what happened to no child never had to experience that.

«The fact that these children have special needs doesn’t mean they have no feelings,» said father.
