«The salami didn’t stand a chance»: a hungry alligator interrupted a picnic of a young couple and ate all their snacks (video)

The couple from Gainesville, Florida decided to have a rest on fresh air near lake Alice, but was surprised by the unexpected and the unexpected guest.

Taylor Forte had planned a picnic for my fiancé Trevor Walters. It was supposed to be a special date before Walters went to serve in the marine Corps of the USA for 10 weeks.

Of course, they could not assume that their pleasant evening is interrupted a hungry alligator.

«He swam to the shore and just looked us straight in the eyes and then suddenly rushed to the beach,» says Walters.

Taylor added that they were shocked by such developments and instantly jumped blankets on which sat.

«He at once destroyed an entire block of cheese»,- the affected Walters. «In salami I had no chance.» He added that the alligator ate a half of watermelon and bunch of grapes. «But the worst thing is that we have had a whole bowl of guacamole. He ate the whole bowl. Put the whole bowl in your mouth».

However, Taylor and Trevor were not going to surrender without a fight. «I learned this trick in the childhood. To scare the bear, you need to stand up and pretend you’re bigger than it actually is. Still need a lot of noise». Incredibly, Walters says that it worked. Alligator ran back to the water, on the way when faced with a log.

Karen Parker of the Florida Commission for the protection of fish and wildlife (FWC) commented on this incident: «unfortunately, it seems that this alligator before fed and he began to associate people with food.»

Walters did say that the alligator wasn’t afraid to approach them.

But Parker says that lured the alligator is a dead alligator. «Once they start to annoy people, FWC is obliged to remove them for public safety. We call our trappers, and they catch the alligator, which causes problems.»

Parker stresses that it is therefore important not to feed the alligators. So you will help save the lives of at least one grovel, and will not allow you to ruin someone’s picnic.
