Without a heart, brain, and larynx | Family still don’t know what happened with the «young and healthy» a veteran who died in prison

Everett Palmer, Jr., was 41 years old. He graduated from Martin Van Buren High School in Queens, served in the U.S. Marines and then worked as a personal trainer in Delaware.

He loved sports and eclectic music. He had two sons.

7 April 2018 Palmer drove from Delaware to Pennsylvania to deal with written on it a couple of years ago a warrant for driving under the influence, before going to her sick mother in new York. Two days later the relatives of Everett called to tell us shocking news: the man was arrested and died in prison of York County.

About the circumstances of his death are still little known. According to the coroner, Palmer suddenly «started to get nervous and Bang your head on the cell door». Officers allegedly managed to «tame», but after that the inmate’s condition deteriorated, the man was taken first to the clinic, and then to York Hospital, where Everett died from «complications of extreme excitement in connection with the use of methamphetamine».

The mother of the deceased, rose, does not believe in this version of events even for a second.

«My son was perfectly healthy and full of energy person, who would never beat on the chamber door» — says the woman.

«We need answers. — adds brother Palmer, Dwayne — We want to understand what happened.»

There is one more detail, not giving them rest: when the body was returned to her relatives after autopsy, it was discovered a lot of bruises. The brain, heart and larynx were absent.

«When we contacted [the prison management] to find out what happened to his organs, they just lied. — says Dwayne — They are advised to contact the Director of our funeral home and said that this, apparently, he took the bodies.»

Of course, the heart and sometimes the brain removed during the autopsy — adds the family’s lawyer, Marlon Kirton — but not the larynx.

«It makes no sense, of course, if you are trying to hide the real cause of death. — emphasizes Kirton — Maybe strangulation?»

The mention in the report of methamphetamine seems to be rose and Dwayne is no less questionable than the one specified cause of death. In their opinion, the presence of the drug in the body of Everett at the time of death would mean that he took it is in jail.

Since then, as they announced the terrible news, it’s been a year, but rose and Duane did not stop trying to figure out how he died Palmer really is. In the course of its investigation, the family hired a pathologist for a second post mortem. He is sure that the death of Everett should be investigated as a homicide.

«My son never has one had problems, he was very kind, gentle person. — says rose — He wouldn’t have done in that prison anything that would cause his death. Of course, it might initially seem to some quite threatening, but this is only apparent — in fact, he was wonderful.»

Relatives are making every effort to Palmer and surrounding his death mysteries — not forgotten. They have created a Facebook page Justice4Everett and every month going to Maranatha Baptist Church to inform parishioners of the latest news about the investigation.

«Every day you read such stories and think, wow, how awful, so sorry for that poor family. said sister Palmer April — Now we have become one of «these poor families».

«My brother was well-mannered, lovely person. adds Duane If he was driving under the influence, then, of course, had to answer for it — but not to pay for their own life.»
