When an autistic boy became hysterical at Universal Orlando, the Park employee knew exactly what to do

The mother of an autistic boy placed in a social network sincere gratitude to the Universal Orlando employee whose participation and skills helped to calm her son during an emotional breakdown in the Park.

Lenora Koppelman told that her son Ralph all day waited patiently for the visit of the attraction The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man in Islands of Adventure.

Lenora admitted that he went crazy from waiting, but tried to deal with myself, agreeing with the promises of the mother «Soon, son, soon,» with a sigh and one only OK.

When they finally got to the ride, he was ecstatic – at first.

«Then, almost when it was our turn to ride, suddenly told us that the slide is broken»,- the woman wrote in a post on Facebook.

It was too much for Ralph, which fell to the floor. «He began to cry loudly and breathe each new breath was given to him with great difficulty»,- she wrote. «The woman who works there — her name is Jen — came… no, no, she ran… and as I frantically tried to get my son to stand up so it doesn’t stumble anyone, she urged me to let him lie on the floor, if that’s what he wants».

Then a woman described how Jen lay on the floor next to her son: «She lay beside him until he cried, and helped him to start again to breathe normally. She calmly talked to him, and while he was screaming and sobbing, she gently urged him to let off steam. The girl told people to go further, so they stood and looked at them. Then Jen told Ralph that it’s okay to be sad and feel so. She understands. It would feel like this. His feelings are valued. And said to him, so that he can lie down until you feel better.»

She not only cheered Ralph, until he passed the failure, but offered to buy him something not more than $50. He picked a notebook and a pen, and a nametag with his name and a picture of Spiderman. «She suggested some other toys that were even more expensive, and he looked at her and said, «No, thank you, I’ve had enough.» And smiled, and then thanked her.»

To the question how she knows what to do in such a situation, Jen said that the Park staff are trained to help visitors with autism.

Lenora wrote: «I hugged her long… a few times, to be honest. And then the whole family left the store, praising Jen».

«We accumulate funds for another trip to Universal in Florida or in Los Angeles, the first thing to go on the ride of Spider-Man. They have gained a certain our loyal customers».
