The pastor from Texas who proposed to criminalize abortion, had molested a teenage girl

On Friday, police arrested 43-year-old Steven Bratton — the former pastor and father of 7 children from Texas, speaking in support of a total ban on abortion and threatened to prosecute the women who interrupt pregnancy. He was charged with sexual abuse of a teenage girl, which, moreover, had the Bratton family.

Allegedly, the man had molested the victim from 2013 to 2015. According to the authorities, «the rape happened several times a week and sometimes even a day.»

According to court documents obtained by the Houston Chronicle, the investigation began in the middle of last month, after Bratton confessed to the crime, first to his wife, and then three other pastors. May 16, two of them — Aaron Wright and Erin fry — filed in the office of the Sheriff of Harris County; the third, in his words, addressed directly to the child protective services. A week later, the accused was excommunicated from the Church.
