Meredith Nicole Dean is accused of the attempted murder of his daughter after the incident, which occurred Thursday at her apartment in the Southeast part of Houston, Texas.
In court materials it is said that the woman’s boyfriend saw Dean pushed the child and then tried to strangle a baby. It is reported that 20-year-old woman was sitting on his 4-month-old daughter, covered with pillows and blankets and asked, «Why won’t you die? Why are you still alive?»
The police said that the young man had to pull off the mother of a girl who woke him with his shouting. In addition, the boyfriend told deputies that the mother expressed a desire to push the baby against the wall.
Interestingly, the next day, Dean is attacked and her boyfriend when they were going to give the child to the garden where the workers later noticed that the girl shook all over. The Manager of the garden Amy ray said: «When they informed me that they’re coming to us, I decided to call the police and they talked to mother and found out what was going on in her house.» Ray noted that all in the garden were concerned about the child’s condition and the health of the mother.
The boyfriend of the woman told the staff about what happened the day before, and advised workers of the kindergarten to contact the assistants of the Sheriff of Harris County.
Ray recalls: «It’s scary because we are used to that the police is in our building. But we just want to protect the baby.»
The baby was taken to the hospital Texas Children’s Hospital in the woodlands, where doctors found the child no signs of injury.
Sheriff’s deputies said that Dean was sent to the Harris Center for mental examination after she threatened to hurt himself. Being in the center of the Harris Center, police interviewed a woman who said that she was upset this week because her mother refused to look after the baby.
She also admitted that she tried to smother the baby with a pillow for the first time, holding it for approximately 30 seconds. The second time she tried to strangle the daughter, she stopped her young man.
Dean said she’s sorry she tried to hurt the baby. Now she is in the hospital Ben Taub Hospital, where her condition is assessed mental health.
