That’s customer service: store employees searched through the trash looking for lottery ticket buyers

The store Manager went on an incredible act to help a woman who lost a winning lottery ticket.

Last week, the husband of Mary Peabody Larry from Portland Oregon came home with a big surprise. «He left work, came home and handed me the ticket. He said, «Put it in a safe place, this is for you»,» told Mary. It was a winning lottery ticket worth $1200, which the man acquired in the shop Lucky Spot.

But the winning pair proved to be too much, the money could be obtained in a small shop Lucky Spot, because the couple went to Wilsonville. However, when they got the envelope, where they were expecting was a winning ticket, it was not. They searched everywhere, but could not find. The pair returned in a Lucky Spot, hoping he might still be in store.

Mary says: «the store Manager said «he’s not here, I don’t have a ticket»». She added that someone probably will try to find it in the trash at night. The couple had already decided that I will never find a ticket and tried to forget about it.

But Manager Dean Thompson was not going to just give up, and she decided to really help the pair. With colleagues they began to look for the ticket in the trash. «We saw it all. Some debris looked outside, something inside. Found the tickets we started to view one at a time,» said Thompson.

Incredibly, the store employees were able to find this needle in a haystack.

Thompson said: «it took a lot of hours, but Yes, we found him. Then I couldn’t wait to see her.»

After receiving the ticket, the Peabody was able to cash out $1200.

«She was not obliged to do something for us, she wasn’t supposed to dig in the garbage and look for the ticket and found the ticket, he could keep it. She is honest, wonderful person. As my husband said, it feels like we won the lottery twice.»

The couple was amazed by the kindness of store employees.

But Thompson says that even thought twice when he decided to help them find the winning ticket. «I would do it again, I’d do it for any buyer», she said.

Mary said that she and her husband spend the money for the upcoming trip to the birthday of her husband.
