«I felt something on my leg, I looked down and got scared. I didn’t know what it was. All I knew was that something was attacking me,» admitted the girl.

Megan was taken to the hospital where she was prescribed antibiotics to combat the bacteria that could spread from infected sea lion.

Although this case was «abnormal», given that sea lion is not provoked, it serves as a reminder to always be cautious with wildlife, according to the Department.

According to Tognazzini, the staff found the sea lion. The animal had signs of poisoning by acid house. This can occur when animals eat too many small fish that ate algae that item (its concentration increases algal blooms). The departure symptoms include disorientation, brain damage, convulsions and death.
