The Sabbath rest at the Kern river turned into a horrifying discovery for 20-year-old Giese Avilés — fishing, he found in the pond the body of a man.

The frightened boy went back to the campsite to his family and told about what they saw of the mother, then the woman called 911.

Around 18:30 the body pulled from the water, forensic experts determined that it was there for several days. On Sunday the identity of the drowned man was able to establish — it was 27-year-old rapper from orange County Michael Ramirez.

The musician went missing on June 22. On Monday, he arrived in tent town Keyesville on lake Isabella to celebrate his birthday with relatives. On the third day of fun, the company went for a walk and decided to take a dip in the Kern river. When the campers entered the water, the birthday boy was carried away by a strong current.

Rescuers were searching for Ramirez and his girlfriend, Erica Zambada, until the last moment not lost hope that I would see him alive.

Only a week after the incident, Zambada learned of the death of her beloved from representatives of the office of the coroner of Kern County.

Ramirez is not the first victim of the disaster on the Kern river — to him this year here drowned 6 people. Due to melt water flowing down from mountain slopes, in the water there is a rapid current. Local authorities urged tourists to exercise caution, but not everyone listens to their recommendations.
