A plane flying from new York to London made an emergency landing in Boston due to a fire on Board

Yesterday, July 4th, flight Virgin Atlantic, flying from new York to London made an emergency landing in Boston after a fire caused by a charger for your phone, which lit up in the passenger seat.

The plane took off from JFK International airport John F. Kennedy (JFK) one hour later, at 20:01, after less than an hour — at 20:52 — landed at the International airport Logan. All 217 passengers on flight 138, and the crew members were safely evacuated. No one was hurt.

Crew members extinguished the fire during the flight and after landing a team of bomb experts of the police of Massachusetts inspected the plane. In a statement, Virgin Atlantic said that the plane was headed to Heathrow airport.

It was the second emergency landing at Boston airport on Thursday, July 4. Earlier jet airliner American Airlines EN route from Chicago, reported the emergency, when the lights pointed to an unknown mechanical problem, but the plane landed without incident.
