The St. Louis police and Illinois are investigating the death of 38-year-old woman. This is the third body found in similar circumstances. The woman was found early this morning abandoned in a public place.
As reported by the authorities, all the women dead from gunshot wounds in the early morning and their bodies found in the bushes near the roadway. According to court records, all three of them also had criminal records for various legal issues. Legar has priors for domestic violence, theft, trespassing on private property and damage to property and for drug possession. Reckmann were problems with the traffic police, while Williams is a civil suit.
«The investigation revealed similarities in the cases of those killed, including life-style, frequently visited places, time of day, when the bodies were recovered, and the cause of death was from a gunshot wound,» said the Lieutenant Calvin brown.
According to brown, the last body was found July 21 around 4:45 a.m. near the roadway. Officers identified the woman as Amanda Legar. She was shot in the neck and died at the scene.
Legar moved to Metro East to care for her sick mother 10 years ago. She is survived by her five children, four of whom still live in Michigan with relatives.
Two other women were shot the same day in Washington Park a few weeks before the death of Legar. 49-year-old Sandra Reckmann found in a vacant lot near 56th street, and the next day the body of 56-year-old Bridget Williams threw in Memorial Park John Thornton — five blocks from the place where was discovered the first victim.
Both women «frequented» the Park Washington. Brown said Legare is also often in East St. Louis.
In an interview with St. Louis Post-Dispatch brown confirmed that police investigators of the state of Illinois are studying a possible link between the three deaths. The police did not say whether there are other possible victims.
