It was about 4 am when 5-year-old Jayden Espinosa, who stayed in the duplex with his aunt in South Marshfield (Chicago), was awakened by the smell of smoke.

«I got up, went outside and saw that my aunt’s house is on fire. — says the boy — it Was very scary.»

Detectors in the apartment did not work, and all the rest — including two sisters Jaden continued to sleep as if nothing had happened. First, Espinoza pushed the relatives, saying that is happening, and then went downstairs to the neighbors, knowing that they, too, are still asleep —and waking them. The efforts of the boy helped to save 13 people.

«I helped get everyone out of the house because he wanted to save them,» he adds.
