«No one should have to die»: the Guy climbed up to the former in the house through the balcony, told her friend to flee and shot 10 times

Police arrested 22-year-old Rigoberto Galvana from Burlington (Washington) after he entered the house his ex-girlfriend — 23-year-old student Western Washington University Stephanie Brenner has Cresswell and shot.

According to authorities, Galvan got into the apartment, where Stephanie lived with a friend — Cassidy Schlicke Perez, through the balcony on the second floor. Both girls at this point were in the living room. When Perez saw Galvan and asked what he forgot them at home, the guy showed her a gun with the words: «Run, because now she’ll die.»

«We were beyond terrified. recalls Cassidy — In such moments I always feel shock, numb. Everything starts to happen as if in slow motion».

The girl ran out of the apartment — and then she heard the sound the sound of gunfire and the screams of a friend. Perez then called 911 and reported an armed man in the apartment, but for Stephanie it was too late. Galvan shot her 10 times, discharging the entire clip.

He then also called 911.

The guy gave the police his name, told where he was, and asked «to send as many policemen as possible». According to court documents, on arrival of officers, he calmly announced that «killed» his ex-girlfriend, explained how to get to the apartment, told us where he left the gun, and, without any resistance, allowed himself to be arrested.

Police found Stephanie in critical condition. Despite attempts to give her first aid, the girl died on the spot.

Stephanie had planned to graduate from WWU in December. Upon graduation, she was going to become a physician’s assistant. Her family knew of galvana and was sure that the guy is harmless: there is nothing in the behavior of Stephanie suggests that she is afraid of Rigoberto or don’t feel close to him in security.

«No one should have to die. — says the girl’s mother, Lisa Brenner Stephanie did nothing wrong. She always did the right thing».

«She was so selfless. Lifted everyone’s spirits, inspired them. <…> She was generous, kind and open, a real role model».

According to Perez, she now feels them with Stephanie’s apartment, «not at ease» and barely found the strength to go back for my things.

«She was just wonderful, — says Perez is a wonderful person. <…> No one is going to happen like that.»

Now Galvan is in custody on charges of first-degree murder. He posted bail at $5 million.
