Mass shooting in Texas: 21 wounded, 5 dead

In a shooting in Odessa and Midland (TX) has suffered at least 21 people, killing 5 more. Among victims — 3 of a police officer, pursuing a suspect, their status is unknown.

For the first time about the shooting reported at Texas Home Depot in Midland, then in the cinema in Odessa. Although initially there were reports of two active shooters, according to the latest information, the attacker acted alone.

The head of the police Department of Odessa Michael Gerke reported that unknown persons opened fire when he tried to stop on the road one of the officers. After that the man continued to fire from his car by passers-by at the local shopping centre and passing cars.

During the chase the shooter abandoned the car and hijacked a mail truck, heading to the Parking lot of a movie theater in Odessa and the injuring of several people. In the Parking lot between him and the officers of the skirmish, the suspect was wounded and soon died.

At the moment we know that the shooter was a white male aged 30-35 years. His name and motive are not reported.
