12-year-old Ziona Baker of Moore County (NC) has finally released from the hospital after the incident which almost cost him his life. School bus dragged the boy behind him on the street — and then moved.

«The driver must ensure that children were safe. — stressed mother of Zion, Serena Thomas — I used to take my son on the bus not to hurt him».

The incident occurred when Baker and two girls got out of the bus. Girls just went across the street, and Zion was going to go after them but the door was closed, sasami his backpack.

«She [the driver] began to drive off, I pulled behind the bus and I fell,» says the boy.

According to North Carolina Highway Patrol, the child was dragged about 10 feet before he was able to pull off with a backpack. However, then things took an even nastier turn, and Zion fell under the rear wheel of the machine.

«It was very painful. On hand were the marks of tyres, and all my veins flushed».

The bus driver was charged with careless driving. Thomas does not believe that the woman intentionally tried to harm the child — but shocked by her negligence. Zion himself admits that it is now afraid to ride the bus.

Representatives of the school district Moore said in an official statement that the employee, being at the wheel, currently relieved of his duties and «drives school bus».
