Police shot and killed a dissatisfied customer of Chick-fil-A, who shouted: «It’s just a sandwich» and sent his truck into a restaurant

Police in Lincoln (ne) on Wednesday, October 9, identified the dissatisfied customer Chick-fil-A, who shot and killed a police officer near the restaurant as 48-year-old Joseph F. Cimino.

15-year-old Thomas arias told the Lincoln Journal Star that he was working behind the counter when he heard a noise. When he looked out, he saw Cimino turns the tables and throws food.

«He shouted: «It’s just a damn sandwich»,» recalls the teenager.

In the video, filmed in a moment of rage, is seen as customers flee after Cimino in a silver Dodge pickup truck 2018 puts the car in reverse, crashing into the window of the restaurant. Then he stops and begins to destroy equipment.

Officer Christopher Hall kept Cimino at gunpoint when the latter threaten more people in the restaurant, armed with a Taser.

«A police officer said something like: «Calm down and step away», but the guy kept coming, recalls arias. — So the police pulled out a gun and shot him.»

According to police, 48-year-old Joseph Cimino died at the scene from his injuries. Nobody else was hurt during the incident.

The chief of police of Lincoln Jeff Bliemeister said that the police confiscated computers out of the apartment Cimino, but found no direct evidence of deliberate reason for the violence, reports the Lincoln Journal Star.

Cimino lived for some time in the area and was even known to police, but he was not arrested.

According to Blemaster, a Grand jury will consider the results of the investigation and make a final decision about what caused such a reaction from Cimino.

In Nebraska it is legal to have a stun gun or Taser for self-defense, although incorrect use may result in criminal prosecution.
