The engraving was created by Dalí in 1967, its size is 20 by 26 inches. The work was one of 30 that were exhibited in the California gallery.

According to Angela of Kellett, Director of the gallery, the thief probably somehow got distracted by one of the employees. Kellett added that the picture is usually attached with rope and a lock, so it is likely that the suspect could «cut» them before.

In addition, while stealing CCTV camera in the gallery was not working in the frames of video from a nearby building. In the end, the unknown left the gallery with a work of art, whose cost is estimated at $20 thousand.

«It all happened too fast that someone could have something to do. Lightning,» — said the Director of the gallery.

However, the known prints for a thief is likely to be more of a curse than a blessing, because it’s not the kind of thing that can be easily sold on eBay.

«It will be to find everywhere, this is a rare work, so it will be difficult to sell,» added Angela Kellett.

By the way, in January of this year in Moscow, a man was removed from the wall in the Tretyakov gallery painting Arkhip Kuindzhi «AI-Petri. Crimea» in front of dozens of people and came out of the building.

Later, the police arrested the thief and the painting was recovered undamaged near the construction area.
