American boxer, 27-year-old Patrick dey died after a coma for four days after the brutal knockout in the undercard bout before the fight of the Ukrainian Alexander Usik.

The American boxer was knocked out by compatriot Charles Kovallam in Chicago. Dey fell in the ring and not moving for several minutes, after which he was taken to the hospital. On the way to the hospital from the boxer started having seizures, he underwent emergency brain surgery but went into a coma and not come out of it.

After the battle, the rival of the deceased boxer Charles Conwell tweeted an apology for what happened, saying, «I never wanted this to happen».

«I just wanted to win. If I could go back and change everything. I replay the fight in my head over and over, thinking why this happened to you. I can’t stop thinking about it, I see you everywhere I went. I thought I was about to quit Boxing but I know it’s not what you wanted, I know you were a fighter at heart. So you’ll be my motivation to get back in the ring,» wrote Conwell.
