The couple were killed, child injured after being hit by their car stolen car

The husband and wife were killed, and 13-year-old woman’s son was injured when a stolen car suspect slammed into their car in West Covina, California on Saturday, told KTLA the family members.

Gracie and Edward Contreras (both 55 years old) just recently got married. On Saturday the couple were heading to his home in West Covina with the woman’s son when the man who tried to hide from the police, crashed into their car. Obra adults thrown from the car, told officials.

Edward Contreras died at the scene, while Gracie Contreras died after some time in the hospital. She is survived by her 2 adult children.

Her 13-year-old son, who a family member called Jacob, still in the hospital and he will undergo several operations. After the accident, he had a punctured lung, a broken leg and several wounds on her face, told KTLA brother Gracie Octavio Medina.

«This is for all of us affected us badly affected,» — said Medina. «He’s a strong boy… he’ll pull through».

The boy does not know that his mother and stepfather died in a car crash, but his father is near, said Medina.

The name of the driver who crashed into the car of husband and wife, is not called. He was taken to the hospital and then was sent to prison.

The incident occurred shortly before 21:00 Friday, when police Baldwin Park responded to a carjacking near the youth centre and skate Park on Badillo Street. The suspect waved a knife and demanded the victim of the theft of the Jeep Patriot, and then left in a car.

After that the driver went to West Covina, was notified by local authorities. Police noticed a Jeep Patriot about 2 a.m. near the street Sandy Hook, and officers tried to stop the car, but the driver managed to escape.

Eventually, the driver collided with a car family.
