The girl was severely beaten in Mexico, said she was blown away by the support received from home, and after a week back in Canada after an operation to restore his face.

In his first night at the resort Grand Bahia Principe in Tulum on the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico) 29-year-old lexi York was choked and beaten with fists until she lost consciousness.

The flight attendant met his alleged assailant on November 10. Later that night I heard a knock and opened the door, saw the man who broke into her room.

«It was then that he began to choke me, recalls York. — I was on the bed. He pushed me to the bed, squeezing my throat».

According to her, he repeatedly hit her on the head and face until he lost consciousness.

When she woke up she was on the floor next to the bed and saw nothing on both eyes.

York managed to call for help and was taken to hospital in Playa del Carmen. She is now recovering in hospital in Cancun after rehabilitation of the person.

«It was nine hours of plastic surgery, told CBC her brother Matthew York. — She has nerve damage on her face. Now the swelling decreases».

The alleged offender, who was identified as Ricardo C. P., 34-year-old driver from Mexico, was arrested.

However, York is trying not to be downhearted and says he will continue to be more cautious.

«Colleagues, friends, people from the area where I grew up, I heard many words of support from everyone,» she said. I hope to be able to go home in about a week,» she said.
