A woman from California tried desperately to save his dog from attack by a mountain lion, trying to pull his pet from the jaws of a Cougar.
The incident occurred Thursday night, December 5, in the backyard of a house in Simi valley, where a mountain lion attacked a 10-year-old miniature Schnauzer named Pumbaa.
Unfortunately, the owner of the animal could not save his beloved dog and called the police when mountain lion was still in the backyard. When officers arrived on the scene, they saw a Cougar that was eating the dog, and then instantly disappeared in the hills.
«She jumped on the Cougars back and tried to unclench her jaw to save the dog, told KTLA the woman’s brother, Brian. – She told me he died, my child died. She loved that dog like a child.»
It is believed that this mountain lion attacked another dog in the same area Wednesday night. During the attack the dog Sammy got a few lacerations, but is expected to survive.
«I certainly hope that the staff of animal control will set a trap to catch a mountain lion, because everything here is in danger,» — said the owner of Sammy Michael Chang.
The staff of the California Department of wildlife are searching for a mountain lion, but still not found it.
Captain of Department Patrick Foy said that if they find an animal, they try to give him a tranquilizer, but not to kill. Officials can issue a permit for the destruction of wild animal that attacked your home, but only at the request of the owner.
«In this case, the owner of the deceased dog refused, added Foy. — She said she doesn’t want a Cougar killed.»
