8-year-old girl wrote a letter to drunk driver who almost killed her mom

8-year-old girl from Mansfield wrote a letter to the driver who almost killed her mother, triggering the accident.

Amelia ELS — the baby’s mother, got in an accident while returning home. A drunk driver was driving in the opposite lane and crashed into her car. 35-year-old Tomas Niedziela, was arrested at the scene. Alcohol test showed that the rate of alcohol in the blood exceeded the widow.

The woman was lucky to survive a terrible car accident, but her daughter Isabelle, the incident so shocked that she decided to write the drunk driver letter.

«A man who drank alcohol that evening. You almost killed my mom, she had to go to the hospital because her head was bleeding. I almost lost my mom. Therefore, please don’t do that. Thank You, Isabelle.» reads a touching letter.

The letter, which was shared on Facebook by the local police, immediately went viral, and Amelia said «very proud» daughter.

«When she showed us the letter, we were all in shock. She asked if we could send it to the driver, and I replied that if it will not come to him, but at least one person will read this on Facebook, then think twice before getting behind the wheel drunk — says Amelia. I hope Niedziela aware of the enormous impact that his actions have had on me and my family.»

Amelia had not sat behind the wheel since the accident on 21 September and still receives physical and psychological care. Niedziela, in turn, received a 20-month ban on driving and paid a fine in the amount of $ 768.

Chief inspector of Nottinghamshire police, Claire Rukas said:

«Letter to Isabelle demonstrates how harmful and dangerous it can be driving while intoxicated. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is always a huge danger, but at Christmas the risks are even greater: people often sit behind the wheel after drinking or using drugs, bad weather and night time only exacerbate the situation. «
