Newly married 26-year-old resident of Florida was arrested for allegedly trying to «lure» your 77-year-old husband a million dollars.

Lin Helena Halfon tried to cash a huge check at the Bank of Tampa last month, claiming that she is going to use the money to buy a yacht in Miami with her husband – businessman Richard Rappaport.

When Bank employees refused, she left, but returned later in the day with three cheques, each in the amount of $333 thousand. The Bank’s employees again not cashed the cheques, but this time the police were called.

As reported by Tampa Bay Times, investigators have notified Rappoport about what makes his wife, and he said he doesn’t want to be deported to his native Israel.

Two checks totaling $666 thousand were ultimately cashed business in Orlando. Investigators got a warrant to freeze the third check.

According to the arrest warrant for Lin Helena, later, when the businessman asked whether he considers himself a victim of fraud, Rappoport said to investigators: «Yes.»

The couple got married in August in Sarasota.

Rappaport’s daughter, Dinah Titus, said under oath that she and other family members remained in the dark about this marriage.

«Daughter believes that Halfon cheated Rappoport for his age,» reads the affidavit.

Liying Helena Halfon was arrested at the international airport of Tampa (FL).

She is charged of money laundering, organized fraud and exploitation of an elderly person. Her bail was set at $1 million during her first appearance in court.
