Iran refuses to hand over the black box of the crashed Ukrainian plane international investigators

The aircraft of the airline «Ukraine International Airlines» (UIA) was wrecked this morning, the disaster claimed the lives of 176 people. The tragedy occurred just a few hours after Tehran attacked two American bases in Iraq, running at least 15 ballistic missiles. The situation caused concern among the international community, as there are suggestions that the plane was shot down by Iranian air defense forces.

For photos from the scene are visible shrapnel damage on the surface of the aircraft, which, according to some experts, could be the result of an air attack.

«This is not the type of failure which occurs due to engine failure.» says aviation expert Julian Bray. «This is very unusual, at first you expect to see the wreckage, but all we can see at the crash site is just garbage.»

Shortly after the tragedy was discovered the plane’s black box. One of the Iranian officials said that the box was damaged, but the records can be restored, however, Iran refuses to hand them to international authorities.

As we learned earlier, Iranian media reported that the Boeing 737 went down after «technical problems». The head of the Iranian aviation, said that about an emergency was not declared. The representative of Iran’s roads and transport authority, says that one of the engines of the plane caught fire, causing the pilot lost control. In turn, the Ukrainian foreign Ministry reported that the plane was new.

Embassy of Ukraine in Tehran initially supported the version of the engine failure, but soon reversed its statement, explaining that diplomats can’t make statements until the investigation was conducted. Also, the representatives of the Embassy were removed from their statement line, excluding a terrorist attack or missile strike.

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that he intends to initiate a criminal case, as the recording of the black box have been detected. However, the Iranian government refuses to publish them.
