«Skeleton in the car»: in the river, found the car of a woman missing in 2014

Police have identified skeletal remains found in a wrecked car in the river in Salem on Thursday. As have informed in police of new Jersey, the remains belong to a woman from Burlington County who died in 2014.

Vanessa Smallwood was 46 years old, she lived in Burlington township (new Jersey), when in January 2014, disappeared from Cherry Hill.

Last week, divers contractors working in the river, found the vehicle near the port of Salem. On Thursday afternoon a car pulled out of the water, and on Friday was conducted the autopsy of the remains.

According to Salem County Prosecutor John T. Lenahan, the cause of death failed to install, but there is no evidence of a crime.

«Judging by the results of the examination of the medical examiner, doesn’t look like there was something criminal,» said Lenahan.

Vanessa Smallwood was last seen January 27 2014 about dry cleaning on Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill.

According to her husband, he went to the dry cleaners, and Vanessa left to wait in the minivan Chrysler Town & Country 2005 release. When the man left the building, Vanessa and the car is gone. Since then, nobody has seen Vanessa, she hasn’t used her Bank cards.

Smallwood was the mother of three grown sons, her family said in 2014 that in the past women had problems with mental health.

Vanessa worked for a contractor at Philadelphia international airport, but was on disability.

The authorities also stated that they do not suspect «foul play» in her disappearance.
