«It was impossible to leave just like that»: People in animal costumes saved woman from attack

A group of people dressed in costumes of furry animals came to help the woman who was attacked. The characters were the participants of the festival FurCon in San Jose.

According to the New York Post, the attack occurred on Friday evening. The perpetrator attacked the woman in the car, but they noticed a group of participants of the festival and rushed to help the unfortunate victim.

The suspect was a 22-year-old Demetrius Hardnett. It also became known that the attack was an act of domestic violence.

«This guy just beat a woman.» — says one of the group rescued, kin Shirataki. «He hit her ten times. I couldn’t sit and look at it.»

Shirataki and other participants of the incident opened the car door and pulled Hardnett from the victim. They also detained him until the police arrived. As he says Shirazumi, all his life he was engaged in karate and Taekwondo. Thanks to his skills he managed to pull the offender out of the car and sit it on the ground, «using the minimum of violence, which was possible.»

When the police Hardnett was arrested, he was charged with domestic violence.
