Two women who died after their car fell from a ferry and sank in Florida, were found in each other’s arms.

According to witnesses who spoke to the Miami Herald, this odd accident occurred when the 63-year-old Emma AFRA forgot to put their car in neutral and mistakenly stepped on the gas soon after they sailed from the island of Fisher. The car went through a light barrier and fell into the channel of Government Cut near Miami.

Several hours later, divers found the car. AFRA and the passenger, her old friend 75-year-old Vivian Brahms, was found in the back seat of the car.

The ferry trip usually takes 8 to 12 minutes. Workers at the ferry check the tires on the cars after they come on Board. Investigators believe that the car is AFRA, which was the first, accelerated and broke through the mesh that served as a visual barrier for marking the edge of the boat.

«Other ferries that I have seen, there are large steel barriers, which also form a ramp, said Maritime lawyer John Hickey. Mesh by ferry, Fisher Island is quite inefficient. She is quite fragile. She’s nothing holding you back».

Remember that both the victims were girls, and the Fisher Island Club, where they rested, accessible only by ferry or private yacht.
