According to NBC, the man suffering from frostbite, and four other hikers were rescued in Alaska after visiting the abandoned bus, which trapped not one adventurer since, as was shown in the movie «Into the wild».

Military Alaska say that five Italians were rescued on Saturday from the camp which they organized after visiting an old bus on a Trail stampede (Stampede Trail) near the inland town of Healy.

According to press Secretary Tim Despain, travelers was found in 13 miles of trails. He never imagined that they could go so far away from the bus.

According to Despain, one of travelers diagnosed with frostbite of the feet, and he was taken to Fairbanks for treatment. Traveler injuries are not considered life-threatening. The other four traveler stayed with friends in Healy.

According to the military, rescue workers were alerted by tourists using a satellite emergency device that has notified the international coordination centre of emergency response of the need of emergency medical care. This international group notified rescuers who arrived at the scene on a snowmobile, said Despain.

The rescue was the last episode involving a bus, first made famous by the book by John Krakauer, published in 1996. In 2007, this book Sean Penn shot the same film. The plot was a young idealist, Christopher McCandless, died of starvation in the bus which is about 10 miles North of the entrance to the national Park and preserve Denali.

In July last year, the bride from Belarus drowned in the river of Teklanika, trying to get to the bus with her husband.

In 2013 three German tourists who were trying to get to the bus, were rescued after the river, which they crossed, became impassable because of high fast moving water.

The families of some of those who died, now require from Denali County to build a pedestrian bridge over the river Teklanika.

The idea is at an early stage and a decision is still pending. Mayor clay Walker said officials have faced this question a number of problems. For example, a pedestrian bridge can give people a false sense of security. This can lead to an increase in the number of people trying to get to the bus that will require more rescue units, Walker said.

As Saturday shows the rescue, in a completely wild area around the bus lurk many dangers.

«The pedestrian bridge does not cancel the need to save people from death», — said Walker.

He believes that the best solution would be to remove the bus.

«The fact that there is this bus, increases the level of attractiveness for tourists, those dangerous places to live», — he said.
