In the Catholic Church in the Californian city of Santa Ana was shot and killed armed man. The shooting happened at the altar at 14:30, immediately after the arrival of the police. Corporal Anthony Bertani told that the man was depressed due to problems in personal relationships and had not intended to commit mass shootings, Fox News reports.
Officers report that inside the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was a man with a gun. On arrival police found a man with a gun, then began shooting. Soon he ran outside and collapsed on a nearby street. Police declared the man dead at the scene.
According to police Chief David Valentine, eyewitnesses reported that the man was nervous and probably wanted to commit suicide, and it’s not like he was planning a mass shooting.
«It’s tragic, it really is. Any death of a person, it’s tragic,» said Valentine. «People come here for comfort, spiritual healing, support, so the incident is traumatic for all who witness it.»
The suspect was not publicly identified.
