A woman is accused of negligence after the death of seventeen-month-old child

A 25-year-old resident of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, is accused in the death of 20-month-old baby due to negligence. Police arrested the suspect on March 6, after complaints about the welfare of the child.

Kathy Crowder was arrested after the child she took care, died in hospital. Since then, the woman is accused of negligence. At the moment the suspect is in custody and awaiting his trial which will take place on 9 March. The details and possible causes of the child’s death were not disclosed.

«At this stage, the death of a child is still considered unexplained. In order to establish the cause of death of the child, should be an autopsy.» — said the representative of Nottinghamshire police.

Sunday, March 8, the coroner arrived on the scene in search of new evidence, while the house on the street Wharmby Avenue was under police cordon. The lead investigator, detective Rob Rutledge is leading the investigation who asked each who has information about the incident to contact metaname law enforcement.

«Any death of a child is a tragic incident and I understand the anxiety it will cause in the local community.» said Rutledge.

To date, a formal identification hasn’t taken place. The house is still under police cordon.
